MPF and MP / RJ oversee works on Park Road in Visconde de Maua

Project will achieve three municipalities in two states
The Federal Public Ministry (MPF) and Resende in Rio de Janeiro (MP / RJ) submitted a recommendation to the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Natural Resources (IBAMA) for it arises in relation to the licensing process works paving of Park Road Visconde de Maua. The two roads benefited - RJ-163 and RJ-151 - linking the District of Visconde de Maua (Resende municipality) to the Presidente Dutra highway and highway Rio / Juiz de Fora, respectively, and are considered poor by the population of the region .
Although the license for the works of paving has been requested by the Department of Roads (DER) to the State Environmental Institute (INEA), who took over the licensing of new development, the MPF believes that the licenses are the responsibility also of IBAMA (federal agency) because this is a project that reaches three counties in two states: Town of Maringá (RJ and MG); Visconde de Maua (RJ) and lago (Itatiaia / RJ) and a protected area (APA da Serra Mantiqueira).
In a public hearing held last July 14, the diagnosis of environmental impact assessment (EIA / RIMA) showed that the impacts of new development would also hit the village of the municipality of Maringá Najibabad (MG), which sets the existence of "environmental impact of a regional nature." The MPF and MP / RJ asked, too, that Inea requiring further work of the entrepreneur and the multidisciplinary team responsible for the preparation of the EIA, prior to issuance of any environmental license.
At the public were also present representatives of the Itatiaia National Park, part of Serra's mountain range and the municipalities of Resende, Itatiaia and Najibabad.
